Community of Writers Public Literary Events

Description

For fifty-five years, the Community of Writers has brought world-class poets and writers to Olympic Valley for two weeks of literary workshops, panels, and readings. Besides the morning workshop sessions, which are limited to participants who applied and were accepted though a highly selective and competitive process, most programming is free and open to the public with an option to donate. Recent years have included multiple poet laureates, including Ada Limón, the current US Poet Laureate, many Pulitzer Prize-Winners, and other literary luminaries. Locals and visitors enjoy the opportunity to hear and learn from these leaders of the art world in a comfortable and affordable atmosphere - usually under the stars and with refreshments provided by Palisades Tahoe's incredible events team.
