Role Overview
The North Tahoe Chamber is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Membership Engagement Manager to drive business growth, engage business owners, and execute high-impact events in the region for our single collab membership. This role will be responsible for fostering strong relationships with business owners, planning and executing signature Chamber events, managing the event sponsorship program, enhancing membership benefits, and overseeing the Membership Engagement Specialist. The ideal candidate will be relationship-focused, highly organized, and passionate about supporting the local business community.
 
 

Key Responsibilities:

Membership Engagement & Business Relations

  • Build and maintain relationships with local business owners, Chamber members, and TBID businesses to proactively educate them on membership and available benefits.
  • Help to create engaging Chamber and Tahoe View newsletters, Chamber Chats, and innovative business spotlights to highlight members and foster engagement by partnering with our marketing team.
  • Act as the primary liaison for new members, ensuring they receive a warm welcome and understand how to maximize their membership benefits, while developing an onboarding program.
  • Develop an Ambassador program and new member orientation to engage members.



Member Benefits & Engagement Strategy

  • Develop and implement a platform of valuable membership benefits and resource library for members.
  • Monitor engagement levels and create strategies to enhance member participation.
  • Gather feedback from members to continuously refine and improve offerings.

Event Planning & Execution

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute signature Chamber events, including mixers, power lunches, coffee connects, and other networking and educational events.
  • Develop event strategies that enhance member engagement and increase attendance.
  • Secure venues, vendors, co-hosts, and speakers, to ensure successful events that align with the Chamber budget.
  • Manage event logistics, marketing materials and promotion, registration, and post-event follow-ups.

Plan and Execute Event Sponsorship Program

  • Develop, set strategic direction, and manage the North Tahoe Chamber Event Sponsorship Program.
  • Utilize Submittable to oversee sponsorship applications, event producer communication, scoring, and ROI accountability.
  • Oversee accounting and marketing functions, such as developing event agreements, collection of invoices, BILL approvals, and event and chamber promotion.
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown, ensuring the North Tahoe Chamber is well represented and the booth is welcoming and engaging for the community.

Growth Zone & Membership Platform Oversight

  • Oversee and manage the Growth Zone platform and app, ensuring accurate member data and seamless functionality.
  • Coordinate operations with NTCA departments to improve user experience.
  • Track and report membership growth, renewals, and engagement metrics to measure success and identify opportunities for improvement.

 

Membership Growth & Strategy Development

  • Implement a strategic plan for growing Chamber membership and engagement.
  • Develop targeted outreach campaigns to attract new businesses and retain existing members.
  • Work closely with marketing and leadership teams to enhance membership visibility.


Oversight of Membership Engagement and Business Specialist

  • Supervise and provide direction to the Membership Engagement Specialist to ensure effective member communication, retention, and engagement.
  • Support the Membership Engagement Specialist in executing outreach efforts, onboarding new members, and managing membership inquiries.
  • Provide training and professional development opportunities to enhance the Membership Engagement Specialist’s effectiveness in their role.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance, ensuring alignment with Chamber vision and goals.

Other Duties as Assigned:

  • Participate in NTCA initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.
  • Provide additional support on duties and tasks assigned.
 
 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in event planning, membership management, or experience working with a business association or chamber.
  • Demonstrated functional competence across areas of project management, including organizational design, creating and executing event timelines, and developing strategic relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Deep experience working with a team, strong networking and relationship-building skills with a passion for community engagement.
  • Previous experience supervising staff or coordinating team members is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Growth Zone, Submittable, BILL, or CRM platforms preferred.
  • Passion for supporting local businesses and driving economic growth.
