Mountain Town Walking Tours is owned by long time Tahoe Local, Karen Willcuts, who started giving walking tours more than 20 years ago in San Francisco. After a couple of years of volunteering, she made it her living. In 1995, she became a professional tour guide and has given numerous tours in the San Francisco Bay Area, Napa Valley, Lake Tahoe, and Truckee. Developing the Tahoe City and Truckee walking tours was a way to share some of the magic of the Lake Tahoe Area. As a way to celebrate the community, she hopes continue to offer free tours.
